Burns Supper and Entertainment

14th January 2008

On January 14th the Collieston and Slains WRI enjoyed their Annual Burns Celebration with a lovely meal of Haggis and Neeps provided by Nora Harper and Irene Smith.  Jim Sawers made a special trip from St Andrews to address the Haggis and also gave a stirring version of 'Tam o' Shanter'.  He also sang some of his favourite Burns love songs.  Maureen Bell sang some unusual Burns songs and provided a lovely duet with Jim.  There was not a dry eye in the house!!

Shona Jamieson played excellent fiddle tunes and local poet Ruth Chalmers read one of her own specially written ditties.

An excellent evening of entertainment.
