Collieston thaws after week of snow!

The first few days of March saw Collieston disappear under spectacular snowfall, the like of which has not been seen for about 50 years!

Both Slains School and Ellon Academy were closed for several days, the road into the village was impassable to all but the most robust 4-wheel drive vehicles and many residents enjoyed an unscheduled few days off work!  Cross-country skiers were a common sight for a few days and the team from SNH who have been attempting to rebuild the steps by the Mealie Burn eventually gave up and built an igloo instead!
