Alan White graduated from The Robert Gordon University's Gray's School of Art in 1974. Married with two children, he has (punctuated by much time spent working overseas) lived in Collieston for more than 30 years. Alan now works primarily as a filmmaker, he is also an award winning illustrator and continues to make artworks that are influenced by the rocky coves and bays to the north and south of Collieston and are representative of the tensions between land and sea. He recently collaborated with Kate Downie and Michael Wolchover to produce the video installation "Driven" at Edinburgh's Talbot Rice Gallery.
