CASCT FAQ

The Collieston and Slains Community Trust (CASCT) proposal is to design and build a new 21st Century Community Centre with social space for up to 150 people and to develop and establish it as a sustainable Social Enterprise.

The focus of our project is to put a new heart into our community in such a way as to be adaptable and sustainable over a projected life span of 100 years.

Collieston and Slains Community Trust (CASCT) is a Company Limited by Guarantee with a Committee of volunteers and five company directors. The Committee meets on a regular basis with detailed minutes being produced. We have charitable status and our most recent accounts are available for view.

In June 2007 the Committee, after balloting the community, took the historic decision to purchase the headland known as the Rivie and has selected award winning architects Reiach & Hall to develop designs for the new Centre.

We will shortly be approaching various funding bodies for grant aid to progress the project.

Help and advice has been provided by CADISPA ( Conservation & Development in Sparsely Populated Areas) at the University of Strathclyde.
